EAPC Ethics Task Force on Palliative Care and Euthanasia
The paper was published contemporaneously in the Palliative Medicine and the European Journal for Palliative Care. go to the pages to download paper and some commentaires
on the occasion of the last meeting held in Milan on 13-15 June 2003, the EAPC Board of Directors has adopted unanimously the paper of the EAPC Ethics Task Force on Palliative Care and Euthanasia as the official position of the EAPC.
Thanks to the initiative of Geoffrey Hanks to search for commentaries, all over the world, to be published together with the paper, it has obtained a very intense and widespread attention and diffusion and has opened a debate, which is still going on.
The Minutes of the General Assembly April 2003, held in The Hague, Netherlands 8th EAPC Congress and the Elections of the EAPC Board of Directors 2003-2007 are now awailable

Taskforce on Nurse Education
A task force of Palliative Nursing Experts has been convened to consider recommendations for the development of palliative nurse education in Europe. The members of the core group are :Martine DE VLIEGER (Belgium), Nuria GORCHS (Spain), Philip J. LARKIN (Ireland) and Françoise PORCHET (Switzerland).
The final document has been circulated to the EAPC Board of Directors.

Taskforce on Education for Physicians
The EAPC Board considers the Education about palliative medicine at University of utmost importance for the future of palliative care, and decided to carry out a survey on the state of the art of education for physicians in Europe. Council of Europe - Recommendations on Palliative Care
TheCouncil of Europe expert committee,chaired by Dr Tony O´Brien, met for a total of four meetings during 2001 and 2002. The Committee has completed its work and has submitted the document to the Secretariat, who in turn will pass it to the Council of Ministers for their consideration in June. No further meetings of the committee are planned.
The EAPC was represented on the committee by Mr. Maurice Chausson.
