Dear colleagues,
It is a pleasure for us to invite you to participate in the 9 th Congress of the European Association for Palliative Care (EAPC) that will be held in Aachen, Germany, on 7-10 April 2005. The EAPC Congress will be organised in conjunction with the 5 th Congress of the German Association for Palliative Medicine (DGP - Deutsche Gesellschaft für Palliativmedizin), Aachen, 6-7 April 2005.
EAPC congresses - taking place every second year - are addressed to the entire palliative care community and count 1500 to 2000 participants. Congress language will be English, the plenaries will be translated into German and French. Congress language for the DGP congress will be German, and we aim to reach more than 1000 participants from Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Public interest in palliative care has increased steadily in the last years in Germany as well as in the rest of Europe. The congresses of the DGP provide the best opportunity to reach the fast growing community of palliative care specialists in the German speaking countries. The number of participants has increased steadily in the recent congresses and good publicity has been obtained. The European Congress is a meeting point for the opinion leaders not only from Europe, but also from overseas. With the cooperation of other associations and with the list renowned international speakers we hope to make this a world congress.
You will find this an exciting opportunity to reach opinion leaders and a large number of participants on a high scientific level throughout Europe and beyond. Therefore we would like to invite you to consider the possibility to participate in our congresses and foresee such events in the budget for 2005. In the annexe you can find our Invitation to Industry Prospectus containing information about sponsorship and exhibition possibilities.
Please note that you have the occasion to advertise already in 2004 in our Preliminary Programme. The Preliminary Programme will be printed in June, 2004; advertising will be placed on a 'first come first served'-basis (for details see p. 12 in the prospectus).
On behalf of the Scientific Committee, we look forward to a fruitful collaboration and to welcoming you to Aachen in April 2005.
Sincerely,
Prof. Lukas Radbruch Congress President
