As the leading topic of the congress is " BEYOND THE BORDER "; participants are kindly requested to submit their papers in accordance with the leading theme of the congress. Participants are requested to submit an abstract to the Secretariat NO LATER THAN 30 SEPTEMBER 2004.

Accepted abstracts (both oral and poster) will be published in the " European Journal for Palliative Medecine " as well as on the congress web-site (The publication of the Abstract(s), as well as the inclusion in the programme, is subject to the payment of the Registration Fee).

The highest rated abstracts will be selected for oral presentations. Only a limited number of abstracts will be scheduled for oral presentation. Authors will be notified of acceptance and of the method of presentation which will be decided by the Scientific Committee.

ABSTRACTS OF INVITED SPEAKERS
 
 
Invited Speakers are requested to submit an abstract of their talk as per the instructions. These abstracts should be marked "Invited Lecture".
 
 
GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION
 
The abstract (Title, Authors, Text) should not exceed 2000 characters (including spaces).

The abstract should be as informative as possible:

a)

state specific object of study

c)

summarise results obtained

b)

state method used

d)

state conclusions reached

Standard abbreviations may be used.

Inclusion in the Scientific Program/Publication depends on payment of registration fees.

PC projections and an overhead projector will be available for oral presentations.

Abstracts should be submitted in English.

CRITERIA FOR SELECTION OF ABSTRACTS
 

1.

All abstracts will be assessed by two independent reviewers.

2.

The reviewers asses the abstracts based upon the above mentioned criteria:

   

- Relation to Palliative Care

- Clinical Relevance

- Relation to Research

- Originality of Research

- Quality of Methodology

- Impact on Palliative Care

3.

The scientific committee will make a final decision regarding the inclusion of the abstracts into the sessions.
