We are delighted to invite you to attend the 11 th Congress of the E.A.P.C. We believe it will provide an inspirational and discursive forum in which to share palliative care practice, research and education across Europe and the World.
The EAPC Congress is becoming a world wide forum for people involved in the differing fields of palliative care to address key topics of its clinical, political and research facets. To this end, we are happy to host and collaborate with international palliative care partners such as IAPHC and WHPCA who offer a significant contribution to our programme for 2009. You are all most welcome!
The 11 th Congress scientific programme reflects both continuity and the need to respond to the ever-changing dynamic which is 21 st century palliative care practice. It will be structured in the same way as previous congresses to include Meet the Expert sessions, Plenary Speakers, Symposia and Free Communication sessions as well as Poster Presentations.
In addition to our invited speakers from all over the world, as always, the programme for the next congress is firmly based on submitted abstracts of the highest scientific quality. From these submitted abstracts, nearly 100 speakers will be selected to present their work and so demonstrate through research and practice, a dynamic response to the needs of our palliative care patients and families.
Certainly, the success of the 11 th Congress is aided by the magical and wonderful city of Vienna . We would like to thank most sincerely the organising committee, chaired by Prof DDr. Hans-Georg Kress, without whose efforts this congress would not be possible. We wish to thank also the members of the Scientific Committee and the Advisory Board for their work in assisting us to plan and develop the programme and, of course, the EAPC Board of Directors and their President Lukas Radbruch for inviting us to take the lead in this exciting project.
We invite you all to Vienna and look forward to meeting you there!!
