In 1784 Austrian emperor Joseph II founded the core of the Viennese general hospital - a hospital known as the most progressive medical care centre of its time. Follow us through the medical history. Visit some of the impressive places - like the famous "Narrenturm2 or the "Josephinum" - the "Medizinisch-chirurgische Josephs-Akademie". The main attraction of the Josephinum is the unique collection of life-like anatomical and obstetric wax models. They have been displayed there since 1780. We close the tour with a walk to the famous home of Sigmund Freud, situated in the former living quarters and office of Sigmund Freud. The Museum presents an exhibition documenting the life and work of the founder of psychoanalysis.
