Giardino Alpinia
The botanic garden Alpinia stretches on about 4 ha, is located near Stresa at 800 m altitude and can be reached following the road that leads to the Mottarone peak (1491 m) or by cable car (Lido Alpino Mottarone). Characteristic for the garden are above all the species belonging to the alpine and subalpine zones of the Alps, although quite remarkable are also some species common to the Caucasus as well as to China and Japan. It is open from 1st April until 15th October (closed on Monday) from 9.00 to 18.00.



Mottarone
Mottarone Cableway offers you the opportunity to enjoy a beautiful views over the lakes and the majestic alps during the 18 minutes journey to reach 1.500 m height. Leaving Stresa and passing through Alpino, a 30 min. drive by car the 5.1/2 miles long private, asphalted tool-road enables one to reach the top of Mt. Mottarone (1491 m). During the drive one car admire mountain meadows, rivers, centuries-old woods, a wonderful succession of scenic views of seven lakes, including Lake Maggiore, the immense plain of the Po, and the marvellous arc of the Italian and Swiss Alps with the Monte Rosa Group (4462 m).The locality is equipped for winter sports.




Parco di Villa Pallavicino
In Villa Pallavicino Park you will spend an unforgettable day in one of the most charming places of Lago Maggiore: Stresa. The park extends over a 20-hectar area with tree-lined paths, wonderful flower-beds and a botanical garden. You will see more than 40 species of animals and exotic birds (lamas, kangaroos, zebras, flamingos, ecc.) which live wild in a wide natural environment. In the Park there is self-service and many pic-nic areas will be at your disposal. Children can enjoy themselfs in an amusing and equipped playground. The Park measures about 40 acres and is open to the public.
