The Nutritive suuport evaluation in tolerance of physical examination in patient with congestive heart failure and cardiac cachexia

Aim: evaluate effects of nutritive support in patients with CHF III-IV Functional Class and low lean body mass in physical examination tolerance.
Material and methods: total 66 patients with CHF III-IV FC were randomized in two groups: Group 1-standard therapy of CHF and Group 2-standard therapy of CHF + nutritive support with oligomeric.
Results: the results of 6-min test: group 1 add 10.3 ± 1.9%, group 2 add 46.8 ± 2.1% (p = 0.04). Lean body mass increased in group 2 on 6.7 ± 0.9% and decreased on 4.9 ± 0.7% (p = 0.03).
Conclusion: nutritive support increased tolerance of physical examination, lean body mass and decreased functional class of CHF.
