Joining hands with Malayala Manorama

In India, Institute of Palliative Medicine, Calicut is joining hands with Malayala Manorama,
the largest circulating regional language news paper in India to run a one year campaign to develop community owned palliative care services in the rest of Kerala. Indian Association of Palliative care, Kerala has a major role in coordinating the programe.

The daily has published serialized feature regarding the community owned palliative care activities in Kerala. The campaign has been launched on 29th April and in the initial stage itself the response is overwhelming. Through the helpline, Institute of Palliative Medicine received more than 2000 telephone calls from individuals and groups offering their service as Volunteers. Nearly 100 groups expressed their willingness to form NNPC units.
