The Golda Fine Memorial Academic Award |
||
The Golda Fine Memorial Academic Award allows a health care professional or health administrator involved in palliative care to come to the Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care (TLCPC) as a scholar in residence for a total of 2 – 3 months. The time spent can be in separate blocks. The recipients external to the TLCPC will be asked to develop projects/and or pursue an academic area of interest in palliative care that will be of benefit to the TLCPC, to their own program and to academic palliative care in general. It is hoped through this process that we will develop academic partnerships with other palliative care centres in Canada and internationally. The topics for the course of study can relate to patient care issues such as physical symptom control, psychosocial and spiritual care. Educational program development, research project development in palliative care or health services research and standards development are also possible areas for study. Eligibility requirements for the award are as follows: 1. Applicant should have demonstrated an interest and/or have experience in palliative and end-of-life care. 2. Applicant must be a member of a recognized health profession or be a health administrator. 3. Preferably, but not an absolute requirement, applicant should have an academic appointment at a university recognized by the World Health Organization. Junior and Senior faculty members from any profession are welcome to apply. Application forms are available on the Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care website: www.tlcpc.org or by contacting Barbara Martin. |
