5th Research Forum of the EAPC Trondheim, Norway, 28 - 31May 2008
JUNIOR INTERNATIONAL FORUM
Vision & Aims
Research in palliative care is an exciting and rapidly developing area of science that is destined to have vast impact on the lives of many. The growing number of palliative care research units worldwide means that more young researchers are involved in this field of medicine. International and interventional strategy plans for palliative care research underline the need for national and international collaboration. The EAPC RN would like to foster international collaboration on all levels in order to promote an international environment for palliative care academics. By establishing the Junior International Forum, a meeting place for PhD students, Postdocs and other “young” scientists, we will have the potential for further close collaboration.
The ‘Junior International Forum for Palliative Care Research’ (JIF PCR) supports the vision of the European Association for Palliative Care (EAPC) to promote the provision of better palliative care at a clinical, scientific and social level.
EAPC RN – JF aims to;
- Provide a platform for communication, collaboration and education amongst young researchers.
- Provide a forum for young researchers in palliative care research to meet, share ideas and learn from one another.
- Facilitate a mutual understanding between junior clinicians and basic scientists of the work they carry out and their areas of expertise within this field of translational medicine.
- Promote collaboration amongst young researchers to establish productive, long lasting working relationships.
- Promote heightened awareness of palliative care research amongst the wider clinical and scientific community, and to encourage young clinicians and scientists to participate in the field palliative care research.
First Meeting
EAPC RN - JIF PCR will be established at the 5th Research Forum for the EAPC, held in Trondheim 29th-31st May 2008.
